The special 'open' vehicles used by the leaders of the INDIA (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance) bloc to begin their journey to Ramlila Maidan (Chalo Dilli) on Sunday were hired from the Ranthambore National Park.

At least three 'canter' rides, each seating about 20 people, departed from 10 Rajaji Marg, the official residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, sat in the front of the lead vehicle while other senior leaders of the bloc, including Farooq Abdullah, D Raja, Mamta Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav, MA Baby and Tejashwi Yadav among others, were also in the first vehicle.

The 'Chalo Dilli' protest is the latest movement launched by the INDIA bloc, a continuation of the nationwide opposition demand for the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in electoral rolls.

Tourist buses were used to ferry national leaders in the previous INDIA bloc rallies. Open buses or vans were also used in an earlier march in Delhi that was carried out on October 12.

The 'canter' vehicles used this time are seen during safaris held in the Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan. Ranthambore is one of the most popular national parks in the country, famous for Bengal Tigers.
